For a seamless arrival, touchdown in Cancun and set up a private transfer or taxi through your travel company to catch the resort's private catamaran. The one-hour boat ride to the island's dock sets the perfect tone for your vacation. Alternatively, hop on the ferry in Playa del Carmen to Isla Mujeres (runs every 30 minutes) and then take a taxi to the resort. The hotel or your travel company, like Apple Vacations/Amstar, can assist in coordinating these logistics. I traveled during the month of December and the weather was windy and raining, so we had to take the Ferry to Islas Mujeres but we got to take the private boat transfer for departure.
The Hotel:
Step into Impressions by Secrets at Isla Mujeres, a new resort (as of 2023) that welcomes you with clean and modern aesthetics. The lobby sets the mood with a breezeway, large archways, and a view of the ocean creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment you arrive. Enjoy coffee and 24/7 snacks at CoCo Cafe in the lobby. The rooms boast spacious luxury, each featuring a hot tub on your balcony—a private oasis overlooking the stunning ocean view. With only 150 rooms, it's the perfect little island resort that transports you to somewhere truly exotic. Your daily Butler, assigned upon arrival, becomes your personal guide, sending you updates on the resort's daily activities and assisting with any needs. The daily menu includes exciting nightly events such as salsa night or live music at the lobby bar. The rooms are stocked with not just the basics but also robes, slippers, a steamer, hair dryer, Nespresso machine, a mini fridge, and a wine cooler with an array of ammenities. A safe in the room ensures the security of your belongings. There is a workout facility on the first floor, or you can opt for water aerobics or yoga in the temple. There are MANY steps at this resort. I would say it is not ADA compliant and you come back without the vacation 5 lbs.
Indulge in some of the best food and drink you'll find at a resort. With multiple dining options and room service available, no reservations are needed for the restaurants (based on our experience at 40% occupancy).
CoCo Cafe: Open 24 hours. Perfect for morning coffee, with truffles and sandwiches for lunch.
Woodfire Steak House: Self-explanatory, with must-tries like lobster mac and cheese and crab cakes!
Sake: Asian cuisine featuring amazing shrimp tempura and sushi. For a unique experience, try the cook-in-front grill with a reservation.
Spezia: Italian delights with pasta and pizza.
UNIK the Kitchen: A snack menu for lunch and a cuisine menu for dinner. Highlights include SeaBass Ceviche and a raspberry salad.
La Vista: Your go-to for typical breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Mercado: Pool side grill
Room Service: Available via a touch screen in your room.
And let's not forget the cocktails – some of the best you'll ever have! From poolside to the rooftop, the resort's 7 bars offer hand-crafted cocktails and top-shelf spirits perfect for indulgence and relaxation. Personal favorites include the Cucumber Martini, Grapefruit Martini, Pineapple Martini, Passion Fruit Margarita, Spicy Margarita, Mojito, and Espresso Martini.
Pools, Cabanas, and the Ocean:
Immerse yourself in the resort's infinity pools, indulge in cabana relaxation, and soak in breathtaking ocean vistas. Enjoy a swim-up bar called Sharks at the main pool and servers rounding on the docks for those lounging on the beach. While the beach area is small, the dock creates a fenced-in ocean area for swimming, snorkeling, paddleboarding, and more. The Jacuzzi, personally loved for its heated comfort and scenic view with the calming sound of a waterfall, offers full service and food. The rooftop pool boasts amazing views and a great snack menu from UNIK.

The rooftop pool transforms into a vibrant party destination with a DJ on certain nights, adding a touch of excitement to your evenings. The rooftop bar, The Top, features swings for seats to bar and can bring in an outside hotel crowd. The lobby bar and temple also hosts live music after 8:30 pm on designated nights.
